DC Adventures Log 1 0

Day 3

I will be staying in Washington DC for a little over a month and I thought I would document my adventures on my days off from work.

I had lunch at a little bistro called Circa at Dupont where I had the best caprese salad of my life. It is located within the Dupont Circle area. One thing I’ve noticed about DC, since becoming a Vegetarian, is I’ve been having difficulty finding veggie friendly things to eat. All I’ve been able to find so far are pizza, cheese, and Famous Amos cookies.

It’s been about eight years since I first came to Washington DC and I have forgotten how beautiful and historic all of the buildings are.

After lunch I walked down the street to the Phillips Collection Museum for the Georgia O’Keeffe: Abstraction exhibition. This isn’t exactly abstract, but it is my favorite piece from the entire exhibition. Georgia O’Keeffe: A Portrait.

ITSOK 0

Project ITSOK: by Sighn life’s focus is on a potentially impossible feat, a hand cut one million wooden cut outs simply reading “IT’S OK”. The end result of this 50 year venture will result in a piece entitled: one million times it’s ok. Every piece is numbered as a part of the “Limited” Edition of 1 Million. For every one bought, one tree will be planted through The Arbor Day Foundation.

FarmVille: People With Too Much Time on Their Hands 0

I, as many facebook users before me, have become a slave to the horrid game, FarmVille. If you don’t have a Facebook page or know what FarmVille is, I will explain. FarmVille is a game where you…farm….kind of like Harvest Moon, but with less responsibility. As I was playing my farm I reached level 19, not as big of an achievement as you might think. But what caught my eye about reaching this particular level was the new title I was given:

….I couldn’t help but laugh about this for an appropriate 5-7 minutes. Another thing that bothered me was this:

Picture 4Who would do this?! Who would put a poor defenseless sheep in a hot air balloon?! This isn’t safe. The sign next to him is me expressing my concerns to Sydney [The Vulcan]. But you can do so much more with your farm than you think, you can make haybale art!

The Mona Lisa!!

Nintendo!!

Invader!

The fact that I took the time to find these pictures says just how much time I have on my hands.
